ensures a "match," because there's nothing left to match, and that's probably what you will have to do to achieve perfection. However, if you're willing to accept less than perfection and save yourself thousands of dollars by not painting an entire car, there's a good chance you will be satisfied with blending new paint with the original KH6. When I bought my KH6 car the hood and fenders had been blended to match the Jspec fascia. The match looked great except in bright sun from certain angles. Then it was possible to discern a difference in the applications. I ditched that fascia because of some production flaws and bought another, which required more blending, of course. After that was done, I can't see any difference in the new paint and the original, and I'm darn picky. This is not to say there isn't any, but it will take some purposeful scrutinizing to find it; the point being, don't rule out blending for fear it's impossible to get good results.
